Rugby Australia terminated Folau's $4 million contract on Friday after a code of conduct panel deemed the 30-year-old was guilty of a high-level breach of his contract.
The Wallabies will gather in Brisbane on Sunday for their first camp without Folau as coach Michael Cheika attempts to get his players to focus on the looming World Cup campaign.
But Folau's fate has dominated the headlines and thoughts of his former teammates, with several NSW players voicing their support of the cross-code try-scoring machine.
ACT Brumbies duo Alaalatoa and Sio joined in as Folau weighs up whether to appeal Rugby Australia's decision.
"Hated playing against you, but always loved playing with you," Alaalatoa said.
"You were another level toks! God bless you and the future he has for you and the family. Ofa atu brother."
Sio added: "Was privilege to have shared the field with and against you. All the best with what the future holds for you and your family!!"
Australia's top players were asked to avoid weighing into the Folau drama during the legal proceedings.
The timing of the announcement gives Cheika and Wallabies players some clarity, but the saga could drag on if Folau opts to appeal.
Tom Banks, Dane Haylett-Petty and Kurtley Beale are the options to fill the No. 15 jersey in Folau's absence after he played 63 of his 73 Tests as Australia's first-choice fullback.
Cheika has also added a new playmaker mix to the squad, with Christian Lealiifano a step closer to playing his first Test since he was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2016. Quade Cooper could end his Wallabies exile and Matt Toomua has also been included to form flyhalf options alongside Bernard Foley.
Former Wallabies skipper James Slipper is another trying to relaunch his international career after injury and a drugs suspension threatened to ruin his chances of adding to his 86 Wallabies caps.
Slipper, 29, was ostracised by the Queensland Reds last year, but has found a new home at the Brumbies this season to form a dynamic loosehead prop combination with Sio.
Slipper said he felt comfortable returning to the Wallabies set up almost three years after his last Test for the Wallabies.
"I've come down to Canberra and I've just really enjoyed my rugby down here," Slipper said.

"Playing with Allan and Scotty ... it's been good for me to start again and really enjoy it. We've been successful on the field in terms of our set piece and I'm just enjoying the players and club down here.
"For me personally, the change has been good and the program the Brumbies run is second to none. Physically, I feel back in shape."
David Pocock will be added to the Wallabies squad despite being injured and not playing a game since March 8.
The champion openside flanker has played just three games for the Brumbies this season after initially injuring his calf at a Wallabies pre-season camp in January.
It's understood Brumbies and Wallabies medical staff have been monitoring his progress and his training load at Cheika's camp will be adjusted accordingly.
The Brumbies, who play the Pretoria Bulls on Friday, are at the top of the Australian conference this week despite having a bye after the Rebels missed their chance to move ahead.
