Contact sport is tough enough so, please, spare me the guilt trip

It's the last round of junior cricket this weekend and, fortuitously, my son's under 11 team is playing in the grand final. The final days of whiling away the hours on the boundary, reading the paper, negotiating whose turn it is to go for a coffee run, getting to know parents whose sons are in different classes. It's been a rather pleasant way to spend the summer and new friends have been made on and off the field.
