Simon Milman is a musician who is not easy to pigeonhole. As a performer, he enjoys character guises such as Coolio Desgracias, his hip-hop alter ego, and Erebis, a Japanese Elvis impersonator who plays free jazz. His latest collaboration is a beguiling mixture of Latin, African and jazz rhythms. So it's not so surprising to learn that, as a teenager, he loved breakdancing and heavy metal but would also act out games of cricket and lawn bowls for the sheer pleasure of performance.
