The men’s and women’s Victorian Opens will be played at the same course at the same time in a unique format.
Nikki has just completed an intense summer at Australia’s big tournaments — the Ladies’ Masters and the Australian Women’s Open — and is aiming for victory.
She finished fourth at the Victorian Open last year.
‘‘This is the only event we get to play together,’’ Nikki said.
‘‘We’ve always supported each other and take an interest in how the other one is going, so it’s nice to play at the same event. Until last year, it probably hasn’t happened since we were juniors.’’
Chris will be part of of the 132-strong men’s field, which also includes Canberra’s Matt Millar.
‘‘It would be a dream for us both to play well, but it would be great to see Nikki win,’’ Chris said.
‘‘She came close last year and is playing well. Fingers crossed for both of us.’’
There’s $150,000 up for grabs at the 13th Beach Golf Links course.
