Federal MP Clive Palmer will be able to relax when he gives his maiden speech to Parliament on Monday - safe in the knowledge that the Liberal National Party will not challenge the Fairfax result in the High Court.

For the past four weeks, the LNP has been considering whether it would petition the High Court over the close result in the Sunshine Coast seat of Fairfax.
The Palmer United Party leader beat LNP candidate Ted O'Brien by just 53 votes after a recount, with the result officially declared on November 1.
But even after Mr Palmer took up his seat in Parliament earlier this month, there was a question mark over the result, as the LNP sought full legal advice about a possible challenge.
On Friday, the LNP issued a statement, declaring it had decided not to petition the court, "after reviewing the recount in the federal seat of Fairfax".
Mr O'Brien, who hopes to run again in Fairfax if he is pre-selected, said the decision would bring certainty for voters in the Sunshine Coast seat.
The LNP candidate said he preferred matters to be resolved at the ballot box, rather than in a court of law.
"Legal action is not a decision you take lightly," he said.
Mr Palmer, who is preparing to give his maiden speech, welcomed the LNP move.
"I think this is a wise decision," he said. "I concur with the LNP, 100 per cent."
Mr Palmer's entry to Parliament came after a marathon recount process, where PUP scrutineers challenged and re-challenged thousands of votes.
The PUP leader is promising an "exciting" first speech to Parliament, but is giving no clues about the content - other than it relates to "Australia".
