Wedged beyond the rugged realms of the Brindabellas, Wee Jasper has a reputation for being a wild sort of place. Stories abound of dingos howling in the hills, oversized feral cats prowling in the forests and ancient fossil beds harbouring treasures from past millenia. However, with a number of babbling brooks, one of the high country's most celebrated rivers and a dam three times the size of Sydney Harbour, Wee Jasper is also home to some of the more picturesque picnic spots and campgrounds within a short drive of Canberra.
