The Brumbies inside centre says he is relishing the chance to feature in a backline littered with international stars both inside and outside him.
But 23-year-old Simone is not content with simply enjoying the ride when the likes of Christian Lealiifano, Tevita Kuridrani and Henry Speight are flying. He wants to add his own spark.
"It helps having the experience around me like Tev, and Christian inside me. To see them build their style of play into our game plan really works for us. Boys just play off that," Simone said.
"It's very useful for us, having players like that who can do anything out of nothing. To have those types of players in our team, it's really good for the rest of us, especially or the young boys coming through.
"You can learn a thing or two off Tevita and Henry, and I've got to be able to follow that up too."
Simone looms as an option to fill the void at flyhalf if Lealiifano is ruled out for the Brumbies' clash with the Japan Sunwolves at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
But the star Brumby is expected to be cleared to play as he mounts a push for selection in the Wallabies' World Cup squad.
"If I was to get the opportunity [at flyhalf], I've just got to nail down my role and what's best for the team to go forward," Simone said.
"I'm not really worried about if I was to get put at 10, it's more a matter of just doing my job for the team and playing how I play. I think it'll be fine, but hopefully he's alright, we'll see how he goes with the recovery."
The Brumbies' finals destiny rests in their own hands with three games against Australian conference rivals remaining to round out the season.
The conference leaders will meet the Sunwolves, NSW Waratahs and Queensland Reds as they look to book their ticket to the playoffs.
Club officials hope a chance to stamp their claim as Australia's top Super Rugby outfit will spark a groundswell of support in Canberra amidst a run of disappointing crowds.
But those headaches are resigned to the offices at Brumbies headquarters with Simone adamant the playing group cannot afford to look that far ahead.
"We can't really worry about finals footy at the moment, all we can do is worry about week by week and take it day by day," Simone said.
"Talking about the end of the season, we could start to get ahead of ourselves. As the boys turn up every day and do the hard work, and just worry about who we have the week after, it has been working for us.
"We always speak about connection and staying as a tight group. When it comes to training, the quality time we spend together is very important leading into games.
"Building cohesion, which is one of the keys for us, building cohesion off the field builds trust, and that leads onto the field."
