Some of those invites could be addressed to a Matildas team carrying a shiny new World Cup under its arm.
The ACT government will announce a multimillion-dollar complex to be built at Throsby as part of its 2019-20 budget on Tuesday.
While the exact cost of the project is unclear, it's believed to be in excess of $20 million and is a significant investment in one of the ACT's most popular sports.
It will include multiple soccer pitches, both for matches and training, helping ease the soccer pitch shortage in the ACT, and Capital Football will have brand new offices to move into as well.
Both Canberra United, the ACT's W-League team, and Canberra's A-League bid could use the facility as a training base - if the FFA finally come to the party and grant the capital an A-League licence at the next round of expansion.
Canberra United are currently based at the University of Canberra.
To help get the deal across the line, it's believed the FFA have agreed to bring national team games to Canberra in the future.
That means the No.6 ranked Matildas, who kick off their World Cup campaign against Italy on Sunday, and/or a Socceroos team including Canberra-product Tom Rogic, could be set to play games in the capital in the coming years.
Finally it's a good news story for soccer, which has again had the controversial sacking of former Matildas coach Alen Stajcic in the spotlight following former Capital Football chief executive Heather Reid's apology to Stajcic last week.
Capital Football currently have their offices in Deakin, but they've been looking for a new home for some time.
It's believed they've investigated a range of options, including everything from moving into an existing site to building a green fields option.
They considered moving into NRL club Canberra Raiders' current training base in Bruce.
The Raiders are in the process of building their own centre of excellence at Northbourne Oval in Braddon, which should be ready to move into at the end of the year.
That opens up their current base, which is on Canberra Institute of Technology land, although NSW Country Rugby League were hoping to make it a training base for the region.
Capital Football had also looked into building on the Canberra Greyhounds' site in Symonston, with the greyhounds club keen to keep their facility active as they attempt to overturn the ACT government's ban on the sport.
But in the end Capital Football decided to go with the green fields option and they'll kick in what's believed to be between $3-5 million of their own.
The Matildas' World Cup group games also include Brazil at the Stade de la Mosson on June 14 and then Jamaica at Stade des Alpes five days later.
Canberra United defender Ellie Carpenter is part of the Matildas squad, as is Canberra-product Lydia Williams.
