Anime following the exploits of Bell Cranel, a 14-year-old solo adventurer under the goddess Hestia. He works hard every day in a dungeon to make ends meet while seeking to improve himself. He looks up to Ais Wallenstein, a famous and powerful swordswoman who once saved his life, and with whom he fell in love. He is unaware that several other girls, deities and mortals alike, are also developing affections towards him. A strong contender for Title of the Year.

Her story, which reaches as far back as 1938, is recalled in flashbacks as Joan in old age (Judi Dench) is questioned by the Special Branch over allegedly providing the USSR with nuclear secrets. Adapted from a novel based on a true story. The formidable veteran Dench is always popular with audiences of a certain age so they will probably brave the cold to see her.
