Michael Green, the four-time premiership player, the Richmond Hall of Fame member.
"He doesn't do a lot of bragging himself, so I like to do it for him," his grandson Tom Green said.
His grandson, the 18-year-old kid from Canberra widely regarded as a potential first round AFL draft pick.
"He played in a very good side at the time, played in four premierships which is pretty fortunate, not many guys in AFL or VFL history get to do that sort of stuff," Green said.
"Being best on ground in that '69 premiership is an unreal achievement, and being in the Richmond team of the century, they are two remarkable achievement.as Stuff like that, it's pretty cool.
"Sometimes you catch yourself pinching yourself thinking about that. Like, Kevin Bartlett was at my parents' wedding, they're good family friends. It's pretty surreal sometimes."
So can Tom be next in line?
"If I had a career half as good as my grandfather's, I think I'd be going alright," Green laughed.
He is off to a promising start - he impressed at GWS during the pre-season and earned a NEAFL Rising Star nomination while racking up 28 disposals and a goal for the Giants last week.
Now he joins another Canberran in Matt McGrory in the Allies squad to take on Vic Country in round one of the national under 18 championships in Launceston on Sunday.
"[The Rising Star nomination] was a nice surprise after the game," Green said.
"The NEAFL team is in really good shape at the moment, we beat Gold Coast comfortably and it was nice to play well in a win like that.
"The [NEAFL] games I played last year have helped me get that confidence, playing well last year, and hopefully this year I can take another step. I'm feeling good out there.
"I've been happy with how I've been going. I was happy with how I was performing in the [under 19] league and since then a few practice matches with the Allies, and a couple of NEAFL games."
Green and McGrory's inclusion in the Allies side comes a week after Queanbeyan duo Jayde Hamilton and Tarni Evans linked up with Belconnen pairing Ellie Hicks and Emily Pease for the NSW/ACT Rams in the women's under 18 championships.
Oh, and don't forget his brother Josh - another prospect held in high regard as he rises through the ranks in Canberra and into the GWS system.
While Green has his sights set on the best from country Victoria, a trio of other Rising Star nominees from Canberra have theirs locked on the Southport Sharks.
The Canberra Demons face a tough test in their bid to climb into the top four as they brace for a meeting with Southport at the Fankhauser Reserve on Saturday.
Among the Demons' ranks will be Angus Baker, Rhys Pollock and Connor Owen-Auburn, all three of whom have earned Rising Star nominations to stamp their names as ones to watch.
Owen-Auburn returns at the expense of Jack Adamson in what will mark Matt Vardanega's 50th game for the Demons.
