The cries of leading female cricketers have finally been heard with Cricket Australia strongly considering adding two more games to the WNCL calendar.

Early indications suggest the women's one-day competition is set to be increased by two games with one round player prior to the WBBL season.
The WNCL will then pick up post the Twenty20 window, with the rapidly evolving competition set to be played in its own window from October to November this season. It leaves the bulk of the summer to the 50-over format.
The WNCL has recently been a six-game season played over three rounds in a five-month schedule, which effectively forced teams into a second pre-season.
The WBBL gave elite female cricketers a window to perform but many have been left frustrated by a lack of 50-over cricket on offer.
Australian captain Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy, Rachael Haynes, Erin Osborne and Angela Reakes are some amongst many calling for longer WNCL campaigns.
"I think everyone would like to see more games played in the WNCL competition, it's such a critical development competition for young players in Australia," Osborne said last summer.
"It is crucial for the development of the next Australian players coming through. The more games we play, the better."
