The lakeside icon is donning blue and yellow all week to mark the team hosting its quarter-final appearance at Canberra Stadium this weekend.

Locks Rory Arnold and Sam Carter, who rang the display in on Monday night, hoped it would get Canberrans out in force on Saturday to help build the case for a new stadium in Civic.

Arnold said he's hoping for a crowd of at least 15,000 on Saturday,

"It's nice to see it lit up and nice to think that the Canberra community is getting behind us for finals footy," Arnold said.

"It would be nice to see a few more numbers there come game day. You obviously notice when you get more. Hopefully they'll drive past here and have a look and it'll just remind them the Brumbies final is this week."

Arnold's fellow lock Carter said Canberra always got behind its own and it made a huge difference to play to big crowds.

"It does mean lot to the Canberra community and it does mean a lot to us playing in front of big crowds," Carter said.

"It has been a long season but we feel like we're just getting started.

"Whoever's coming over the King's Bridge . . . hopefully they see it and it just reminds them of what a great team the Brumbies are and what they've done for the Canberra community for the last 20 years.

"If you're going to jump on any bandwagon it may as well be us. Good time to get on board as well. Fill the fortress."

It's been a rollercoaster for the club in recent years. They were were threatened with being culled in 2017 when the code's administration body looked at scrapping a team in the Super Rugby competition.

Last year they missed their first finals campaign in six years and earlier this season their hopes to make the playoffs looked grim.

Now they're on a six-game winning streak and are hoping to see a number of departing players leave on a high, including skipper Christian Lealiifano.

The Brumbies face off against the Sharks on Saturday night at Canberra Stadium. Kick-off is 8.05pm.
