A man was hit with a weapon believed to be baton during a road rage incident in Bungendore on Thursday, police say.

The man required medical treatment but did not need to go to hospital.
NSW Police is now appealing to the public for witnesses to the incident as officers look to identify the assailant and find the weapon, which a member of the public took in an attempt to calm the situation after coming to the injured man's aid.
Police said two men had a "dispute over the manner of the manner of driving" about 4pm on Thursday as the pair drove between Braidwood and Bungendore on the Kings Highway.
Both men stopped their vehicles at the intersection of Malbon and Butmaroon streets and had an argument.
"One male struck the other with what has been described as a type of baton," police said.
"The male then fell to the ground and brave members of the public came to his assistance."
Police said they wanted to speak to those members of the public and anyone else who witnessed the incident. They were also looking for information on the whereabouts of the weapon.
