Nurse will start in her first All-Star appearance after being selected as a guard for the showdown between the WNBA's biggest stars.
Nurse quickly became a fan favourite as she helped Canberra charge towards an eighth WNBL championship and she will be back for the Capitals' title defence after signing a one-year deal.
Now the 10th pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft is making waves for the New York Liberty having averaged 16.0 points per game this season.
The All-Star starters were selected by a combination of fan votes, current WNBA players and media. The fan vote accounted for 50% while the players and media were 25% apiece.
Nurse finished fourth in the fan vote, sixth in the media ballot and third amongst her peers for a combined score of 4.25. It was enough for a starting spot, and now she has to find out who she is playing for.
Elle Delle Donne of the Washington Mystics and A'ja Wilson of Las Vegas topped the vote count to earn captaincy roles which will see them draft their rosters next week.
Nurse will make her first All-Star appearance at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on July 28 (AEST).
