The Gungahlin Jets had conceded 1318 points and scored zero in 10 games before they strode onto Gungahlin Enclosed Oval for an AFL Canberra women's clash against the undefeated premiership favourites on Saturday.
Standing in their way were the Queanbeyan Tigers, who sit three games clear at the top of the table having given away just 75 points this season.
Well, better make that 85 points.
Courtney Perman's goal broke Gungahlin's drought in a 17.5 (107) to 1.4 (10) defeat at the hands of Queanbeyan.
Gungahlin are still anchored to the bottom of the table but their breakthrough points will be some sort of confidence boost as they look to reach the dizzying heights of their 2016 premiership once more.
"They very much create their own culture, and part of that is just the enjoyment of being part of good group of people," Jets coach Tim Caesar said.

"They've also understood this would be a process with an inexperienced team.
"We've been working through what we want to do and how we want to play footy rather than just focusing on kicking goals. It's starting to pay off now.
"We're particularly proud given Queanbeyan are at the top of the table.
"It just speaks to the fact the girls are starting to understand the game, the way to play and they're just going through that process."
When Caesar took the reins late last year he had seven players to work with. He knew he would have to start from scratch.
The scoreboard has never been his measure of success, but this outing shows some sort of progress - they had dropped their past two games against the Tigers by 205 and 169 points.
This may only be one small move, but there is hope the Jets can take flight.
Queanbeyan's lopsided win capped off a solid weekend for the club's senior teams.
Tim Clowry opened the round with a bang when he booted four goals in Queanbeyan's 10.13 (73) to 4.4 (28) win over the Jets in the men's competition at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval on Friday night.
Then it was the Ainslie Tricolours taking centre stage in a 19.14 (128) to 4.7 (31) win over the Tuggeranong Hawks at Alan Ray Oval on Saturday.
The final game of the round was the one to watch as the Belconnen Magpies beat the Eastlake Demons by seven points in a potential finals preview at Manuka Oval.
Belconnen trailed by one goal heading into the final term before finishing stronger to claim a 9.9 (63) to 8.8 (56) win over another finals-bound outfit.
