The Lion King (PG): Disney's CGI remake of its animated musical about Simba (voiced by JD McCrary and Donald Glover), a young lion whose uncle Scar (Chiwitel Ejiofor) kills his father Mufasa (James Earl Jones), makes him feel he is responsible and drives him away. But eventually Simba grows up and returns to claim his birthright. Directed by Jon Favreau. Hans Zimmer came back to rework his score and songwriters Elton John and Tim Rice added a new song to add to Can You Feel the Love Tonight and the rest. Beyonce also wrote and sang a new number.
Sink or Swim (M): In this French comedy, a group of 40-something men with various problems - including depression, anger, unemployment and the threat of bankruptcy - decide to form their local pool's first male synchronised swimming team. English subtitles.
The White Crow (M): Actor Ralph Fiennes directs his third film, about young Kirov Ballet star Rudolph Nureyev (played by Ukrainian dancer Oleg Ivenko) and his decision to defect to the West in 1961, during the tensions of the Cold War. Fiennes also plays Nureyev's trainer, Alexander Pushkin.
