Transparency International Australia have backed rising calls for a Senate inquiry into the after Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet secretary Dr Martin Parkinson cleared the two former political allies of breaching the standards.
TIA chief executive Serena Lillywhite said on Tuesday any inquiry should also investigate a code of conduct for all federal members of parliament and oversight of the standards moved out of the Prime Minister's Office.
The advocates also said any inquiry should look into the adequacy and reach of the current standards, how and to better regulate and enforce them.
