Police have released new CCTV footage of the car in a bid to solve a series of attacks on a home in Reservoir.

In the first assault, footage shows a masked man in a backwards bulletproof vest kicking and shooting at the door of the house with a handgun.

The second incident involved a Hyundai i30 being set alight outside the house, with a white Toyota Corolla spotted leaving the scene.

"Police have no reports of a white Toyota Corolla being burnt out over the past seven weeks since the shooting, and so it may possibly still be being used," Victoria Police said on Wednesday.

In the third attack, a 20-year-old man was shot after he went outside the Bray Street address to meet someone in a black, Porsche SUV in the street about 1.30am on June 8.

"The victim is extremely lucky to be alive. He's millimetres away from death in relation to the reckless way the gun has been shot," anti-gangs division Detective Superintendent Peter Brigham said shortly after the shooting.

The Porsche SUV sped off from the scene and was later located burnt out in Mitchell Street in Brunswick East about 1.55am.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his leg.

Detectives believe that both shootings were targeted attacks.
