There is no greater indication that a community has embraced a new artwork than when they wrap it up warm for winter, as has happened to the still relatively-new sculpture at the Hughes shops.

Some whimsy has been added to A Delicate Moment, a woman holding a large bird in a tender embrace, which was unveiled in May.
A nice warm scarf has been wrapped around her neck and even slippers put on her feet (by being cut out and fitted on to them) to give her a little lift during winter.
The same used to be done to the previous, much-loved sculpture which stood in the same spot, Stepping Out (Lady in Pearls) until it was cut down and stolen in May 2016.
Hughes' new lady in town appears to be a worthy successor, if the community care is anything to go by.
A Delicate Moment is the work of former Braidwood, now South Coast artists Suzie Bleach and Andy Townsend.
