Canberra softballer Clare Warwick will be part of the Aussie Spirit's bid to qualify for the Olympic Games in Japan next year.

Warwick was part of the 20-woman squad announced on Wednesday and she'll take on Asia and Oceania's top-ranked teams in Shanghai, China, next month.
She's a veteran of four world championships and has played more than 200 games for the green and gold.
Warwick spent the past 10 weeks playing for the Aussie Peppers of Minnesota in the National Pro Fastpitch league.
That gave them the chance to play against a near-full-strength Chinese team, who beat them at the Asia Pacific Cup earlier this year.
The Spirit have to win the tournament, which runs from September 24-26, to qualify for Tokyo 2020.
Ranked No.7 in the world, Australia are in group B and their toughest challenge will come from world No.6 Chinese Taipei.
They'll need to finish top of their group after the opening round, with the top two teams progressing to a super round to decide the winner - and more importantly who qualifies for the Tokyo Olympics.
It's the first time softball's been an Olympic sport since the 2008 Games in Beijing.
