It's alleged two men were stealing tools from a parked car outside a house on Haxton Place in Conder about 5am Saturday.
The two men were interrupted outside by a nearby resident.
Just after 7am, the men were then seen stealing number plates from a car on nearby Heidelberg Street in Conder, before later being seen trying to break into a garage on Neri Place in the same suburb.
Police say the men drove at residents during the incidents on Heidelberg Street and Neri Place, after the pair were confronted.
The men allegedly drove at the residents in a blue Nissan Pathfinder, which police say was stolen. No one was injured in the incident.
Following investigations, police arrested one of the men, a 26-year-old, from a home in Conder.
A search of the home revealed a large amount of property, alleged to have been stolen.
The 26-year-old man has been charged with three counts of theft, two counts of dangerous driving, attempted theft, drug possession and driving a motor vehicle without consent.
The man is expected to face ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.
