The Marriott hotel brand has arrived in Canberra, with the global franchise striking a deal to partner with Geocon at its luxury Midnight complex in Braddon.

Representatives from Marriott International will join Geocon founder and managing director Nick Georgalis to unveil the partnership on Thursday morning.
The parties were unavailable for comment ahead of the announcement.
Marriott's signature is a major coup for Geocon, which had been marketing the hotel component of its $200 million Midnight development to potential buyers and operators since October last year.
The 200-room hotel will include a restaurant, bar, conference room and indoor pool. The mixed-use Midnight complex, which is nearing completion, will also include 250 apartments at the site of the old NRMA House on Northbourne Avenue.
Canberra is in the midst of the hotels' boom, with industry's peak body in the ACT predicting the number of rooms will grow by 30 per cent in the next two years.
The Canberra Times this month reported that Hilton had approached the ACT government with plans to open its first hotel in the nation's capital.
Chief Minister Andrew Barr has been keen to lure high-end hotel brands to Canberra. Mr Barr met with representatives from Marriott during a trip to Singapore in 2017.
He met with Fullerton Hotels during a visit to the same city in July.
