The organisation has offered access to its online cultural competency training resources as well as five double passes for referees to attend a session of The Australian Dream.

It comes after Richard Allan claims he was targeted by racist taunts last week, saying opponents called him a "petrol sniffer" and a "dirty Abo". He also claims he was met with laughter when he fronted referees with the allegations.

Basketball ACT has begun investigating claims of racial abuse and its staff will be forced to undergo training in a bid to stamp out racism.

Amnesty International Australia has welcomed Basketball ACT's position to 'educate members and staff' on its stance on reconciliation and racism.

"Racism has no place in our community. Whether it be on the basketball court, at school, at work, or just in the street, we must call out racism at every opportunity," Indigenous Rights Manager Tammy Solonec said.
