Luke James Munday, 27, pleaded guilty to domestic violence-related common assault after he slapped Grace Campbell across the cheek and pulled her to the ground at their Oran Park home in December 2018.

He was due to be sentenced in Picton Local Court on Monday before magistrate Mark Douglass was presented with a large folder of documents and ordered a sentencing assessment report.

Munday is expected to return to the same court on November 13.

Munday's lawyer Steven Mercael on Monday argued his client should be placed on a conditional release order without a conviction recorded for the offence.

"That seems low," Mr Douglass said.

The gamer, known as MrDeadMoth online, had been broadcasting his Fortnite activity on streaming platform Twitch when his partner asked him to come to dinner on a Sunday night in December.

When he didn't, she went into the office area and said she wanted him to eat with the family, repeated her request several times and then threw objects at him.

After asking her to stop, Munday became angry, stood up, walked off camera and slapped the left side of her face.

He sat down but after further objects were thrown at him pulled her to the ground and walked away.

"She went to grab my stuff and I got angry. I stood up and slapped her on the cheek," Munday said in a police interview that night.

"I grabbed her, and I thought I put her on the couch, but it must have been the floor.

"I just held her down because I wanted her to stop."

A statement of agreed facts says Munday showed remorse during the interview and was aware his actions were inappropriate.

Police bail documents state there were "numerous independent witnesses" due to the live-streaming of part of the assault.

One witness went to police after his partner contacted Ms Campbell through Facebook Messenger, disclosed what happened and attached a link to the video.
