Canberran John Foulcher is the 2019 Australian Catholic University poetry prize-winner, receiving $10,000 for Revising Casuarinas. Another Canberran, Geoff Page, won second prize ($5000) for Single Women In Their Later and Mark Tredinnick from Bowral won third prize ($3000) for October Morning After Rain. The poems will be published in the 2019 ACU Prize for Poetry chapbook which is available for purchase by emailing aculiteratureprize@acu.edu.au.
2020 ACU Book of the Year
Australian Catholic University will name a Book of the Year each year and will provide a free copy to every new student. The theme in 2020 is ''hope'' and the Book of the Year will be This Is My Song by Richard Yaxley, a three-generation family story of a grandfather who survives Auschwitz and whose grandson revives a song written before the war.
