The awards were announced at a ceremony at the National Portrait Gallery on Thursday night.
Coordinate Group delivers communications strategies, creative and media to clients, including McDonald's, the Australian National University and the Canberra Institute of Technology.
It was engaged by the ACT Government in 2012 to help change the face of Canberra and came up with the CBR brand ahead of the centenary of the national capital, in 2013.
Keen to give back to the community, Coordinate Group also invests a minimum of 20 per cent of agency time and resources to provide pro-bono support to sporting teams, not-for-profits, start-ups and the wider community.
Coordinate Group founder and director Jamie Wilson was thrilled with the win.
"We believe we can make a positive difference to our community through collaboration with brands, people and movements we believe in," he said.
Coordinate Group also took home the 2019 Telstra Medium & Making Waves Award.
The Telstra Business Awards recognise Australia's best businesses, and help them gain the credibility to unlock new opportunities.
Winners were chosen across four categories: Emerging & Energised, Small & Succeeding, Medium & Making Waves, and Social Change Maker.
New Level Landscapes won the Emerging & Energised Award category. The business prides itself on creating outdoor spaces tailored to clients' requirements, using the highest quality products so the job only needs to be done once in a lifetime, the nomination said.
"The team focuses on both the current and planned use of the space to increase the value of the property and the client's time spent in the garden," it read.
OzHelp Foundation was the winner of the Social Change Maker Award.
Established in 2001, OzHelp Foundation is a national not-for-profit provider of mental health and wellbeing programs targeting hard-to-reach people working in industries that have a heightened risk of suicide, including the building, construction and mining sectors.
Water Tight Canberra was the Small & Succeeding Award winner. Owner Tom Martin sought to "defy the lazy tradesperson stereotype and frequent second-rate work standard within the industry through his customer-first plumbing, drainage and gas-fitting company".
Telstra's Michael Ackland praised the winners.
"The ACT winners are shining examples of businesses doing great things in new and effective ways for their customers," Mr Ackland said.
"They have inspired us all with their resilience, courage and incredible commitment.
"Coordinate Group's resilience, business intelligence, and focus on business analytics are its recipe for success. They look at the heart of what drives business, the future of the organisation and how to use data to best inform their decisions.
"They have successfully placed their business within the context of Canberra and fostered an approach to local clients that works."
Finalists in the awards were also thrilled by the recognition of being among the top 15 businesses in the ACT, including The Markets Wanniassa, a finalist in the Energy and Energised category.
James and Fiona Lester, with children Matilda, Eddie and Olivia, were thrilled The Markets Wanniassa was a finalist in the Emerging and Energised category of the Telstra Business Awards.
Fiona and James Lester have for two years run The Markets Wanniassa, which started as an opportunity to give other mums, who usually sold at weekend markets or online, an opportunity to sell their handmade items from a bricks-and-mortar outlet.
Fiona even crocheted her own dress for the occasion.
"We are just so grateful for all the support we have received and how far we have come in two years," Fiona said.
Since 1992, the Telstra Business Awards have showcased some of Australia's best business talent with more than 58,000 businesses nominated to date.
