When in the market for property, some buyers can be wary of the process involved with buying off the plan.

Local developer Art Group's brand new sold-out development On Forbes has welcomed home its new residents. Quickly filling the 200 apartments with a high percentage of owner-occupiers, the development brings new life to the Northbourne corridor.

Like many others, when Danielle Leahy was in the market to buy a property, she was cautious buying off the plan due to stories she'd heard.

"I had no desire to buy into a development because it scared me and I didn't really know what I was doing or what I was looking for, so I ruled it out'," she said.

"As time went on, I couldn't find any existing properties that I liked that were in my budget, the size I wanted and in the location I wanted. So, it was then that I thought I should have a look at some developments."

After doing her research and getting advice from friends well versed in residential development and developers, she visited a number of options, but kept coming back to Art Group's On Forbes development in Turner.

On Forbes is one of the newest communities on the buzzing Northbourne Corridor, with a light rail stop right at the front door.

"The agent was really personable and made it really easy and I didn't get that experience from the other developments I visited," Ms Leahy said.

"And at On Forbes, the floor plan was bigger, it was in my price range, and location and convenience-wise, it was probably the best of the developments I looked at. It really was a no brainer and I got the contract the next day and signed it, and the rest is history."

Now living at On Forbes in a three-bedroom apartment with her five-year-old daughter, Danielle said she was blown away by the quality of her apartment, and the development's facilities which include a shared rooftop with stunning views over Canberra.

"I'm really happy, I know I've made the right decision. It feels like home," she said.

Locally owned, Art Group has a reputation for delivering premium properties with quality finishes and innovative design features.

Fellow On Forbes resident Haimanot Goodall, who bought a two bedroom apartment with her twin sister Rahel, said she felt comfortable buying off the plan because of Art Group's reputation.

"We looked around and did a bit of research, but what Art Group provided was exactly what we were looking for, so we were happy to put our trust in them," Ms Goodall said.

"Everything was so seamless and handled really well, from the sales process through to the inspection and then settlement," she continued.

"Now that we've moved in, we are so impressed with the apartment and the quality of the finishes. The whole way through, everything was better than we expected."
