Sezer has helped guide Canberra to their first grand final in 25 years but he's expected to leave in the off-season due to the signing of England international George Williams.

Sezer is contracted until the end of next season but free to start talking to rival clubs from November 1 and several teams are looking a playmaker.

The 28-year-old said the only thing he knew for sure was that he'd be lacing up the boots somewhere next season, and that his focus was on the grand final.

"I'm still contracted next year so the ball is in my court, we'll play it by ear, it's rugby league," Sezer told AAP.

"I'll be putting the boots on next year, if it's not here it will be somewhere."

Sezer emphasised he wasn't looking past the daunting task of taking down minor premiers Sydney Roosters at ANZ Stadium.

"If it's my last game or first game for the club, it doesn't really matter. I'm playing in a grand final and that's the only thing I'm focusing on," Sezer said.

"It's a big occasion and something you dream about as a kid and a player and not many players get to experience in their career.

"I'm just fortunate enough to be alongside a group of boys that I really enjoy their company. They're my good mates and that's where my motivation stems from.

"Hopefully I'm here for a few more years to come but we'll see."

Canberra recruitment boss Peter Mulholland said he wants to see Sezer, Williams and five-eighth Jack Wighton at the club next year fighting for their spots.

"It'd be nice having all three, wouldn't it," Mulholland said.

"It will be a battle next season and that's what it's all about, (coach) Ricky (Stuart) doesn't play favourites and it's up to those two to decide who it is that starts next year.

"There's always the option of Jack moving back to fullback or the centres, we'll have two good halfbacks, you just don't know what will be."
