Trevor Dickinson's images of bus shelters across four seasons of Canberra are so evocative you can almost feel the teeth-chattering chill of June and the deadening heat of January.
The talented artist has released a year's worth of beautiful bus shelters in his new 2020 calendar featuring the shelters in all their utilitarian glory.
The calendar uses his bus shelter drawings from the exhibition he held earlier this year at the Canberra Museum and Gallery.
"In the exhibition I captured Canberra during every month and in different weathers and times of day, and this makes it perfect for a calendar because I could select the pictures to match the season," he said.
"So, June is a very cold Misty morning, and February is summer with dappled light through the trees, and December has Christmas lights behind the bus shelter."
And it's all about the details.
"The calendar is on heavy art paper and weighs almost half a kilo," Trevor said.
"I spent a lot of time designing the date pages and coloured each month to complement the images.
"I also did an online poll to find out if I should start the week on a Monday or Sunday. Monday won easily as it's the start of the work week. I work almost every day, so it could start on a Wednesday and it wouldn't bother me."
The calendar is available at at trevordickinson.com as well as outlets such as the Portrait Gallery,
And if you can't get enough of Trevor's work, he is releasing new Canberra Space Coasters which will be available by the end of the month.
"The bus shelter on the moon turned out to be a great hit, so maybe I'll take a shelter on tour around the world next year." he said.
