Alexa's mother, Meegan Biernat, says it's a testament to the happy family-like environment Communities@Work has created throughout its children's services and to its skilled and passionate educators.
Communities@Work is Canberra's largest provider of children's services, with a proud history of providing award-winning child care and education to the ACT for 42 years.
With 12 long day care centres, 16 before and after school care services and 85 family day care educators across Canberra, it's the provider that hundreds of families choose to entrust their children with.
"We visited five centres and ended up choosing the Communities@Work centre at Richardson because the staff and the environment were so inviting and genuine," Meegan said.
"There was laughter and chatter and the children looked happy."

Melissa and Michael Wallace chose a Communities@Work child care and education centre because they wanted their children to be in a nurturing environment and to have valuable interactions with other children and staff.
"We were looking for a 'village' to raise our child," Melissa said. "Richardson Childcare Centre is our village.
"The staff treat our children like their own. I also love how the educators go out of their way to help us, even with little things like organising haircuts or holding an umbrella over me when it's raining."
Communities@Work CEO, Lee Maiden, says the organisation is very proud of its community reputation.
"Families across Canberra often tell us that we feel like extended family," she said.
"That's because we place children at the centre of everything we do and work hard to create a happy, safe and home-like environment around them."
Communities@Work is also proud of its reputation for having the best quality educators in Canberra through its unique industry-leading traineeship program called 'Ascend'.
"You can have the fanciest equipment, teaching aids and chef-supplied food, but unless you have quality educators it won't be a good centre," explains Meegan emphatically.
"The Communities@Work educators are definitely quality staff.
"We're constantly amazed by all the new things our kids are learning.
"We feel extremely lucky to have found a Communities@Work centre.
"It's a lovely, clean and safe environment for our children.
"The most important thing is that our kids are happy. They love the centre and they love the staff. They're learning all the time. We couldn't ask for anything more."
