This year it was Auckland. Next year it will be Townsville as the Canberra Raiders look to lighten their hefty travel load.

The Raiders will have a Far North Queensland getaway in the lead-up to their round 20 clash against the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville.
Rather than coming home after playing St George Illawarra at Wollongong on July 26, they'll head straight to Queensland for a mini-camp in the run home to finals.
It's something they tried to great success this year when they stayed in Sydney after playing the Panthers in Penrith before flying to Auckland to take on the New Zealand Warriors.
Canberra already have an above-average travel schedule locked in for 2020.
The NRL average for next season is 20,696 kilometres - almost 2000km less than the 22,630km the Raiders will have to do.
That's not including the pre-season, where they travel to Perth for the NRL Nines on February 14-15 and they'll also face the Canterbury Bulldogs at Port Macquarie in their only pre-season trial.
That takes their travel load to almost 31,500km before facing a possible NRL finals campaign.
Raiders football manager Matt Ford said the Townsville camp was designed to reduce their travel load in the middle of a block of three straight away games.

"We're looking at potentially getting up to Townsville at the back end of the season for the whole week," he said.
"Just based on our travel period at that time we've got a few back-to-back away games and I think we've got a six-day turnaround going into Townsville.
"It's being as efficient as possible with our travel load. We just think it's an opportunity like Auckland last year to be efficient ... and just lighten that travel load a little bit."
For the second straight season they'll take on the Bulldogs in a pre-season trial, returning the favour after hosting them at Bega this year.
The Bulldogs have signed a five-year deal with the north coast, including playing the first NRL trial at Port Macquarie in seven years.
Newcastle took on the Panthers there back in 2012.
Now the Raiders will make the trip north to play on February 29 - two weeks before they open their season against the Gold Coast Titans at Canberra Stadium.
It will be the Raiders' only trial, although their NSW Cup affiliates Mounties also have a trial on February 22 - when the NRL All Stars game is on the Gold Coast.
That caps an extremely short pre-season for a lot of the Raiders players, who only return to training in early January.
"We'll probably go up [to Port Macquarie] on the Thursday on our day off, which is what we'd do for a standard NRL away game rather than coincide with a camp," Ford said.
"We're mindful that we're coming back a fair bit later this year so the pre-season's going to be limited compared to last year."
