City Renewal Authority chief executive Malcolm Snow said the Big Spring Picnic was the next event in line after months of trialling different events, activities and light-touch improvements in Haig Park since June this year.
"Haig Park Experiments continues to make a positive impact on the amenity and perceptions of this iconic green space in the heart of the city," Mr Snow said.
"The community has responded enthusiastically to the Haig Park Experiments and have actively embraced our revitalisation efforts in this important public space. With a great program of activities occurring across a variety of sites in Haig Park, I look forward to seeing the Big Spring Picnic bring the Canberra community together for a great day outdoors."
