Two people were killed and three others suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on the Snowy Mountains Highway on Friday.

Emergency services were called to the crash near Adaminaby, northwest of Cooma, about 3pm after reports a silver Honda CRV travelling east and a grey Mitsubishi Pajero travelling west had a head-on collision.
The driver of the Honda, a 72-year-old man, and the front passenger, a 75-year-old man, died at the scene. Police confirmed on Sunday they were both from Canberra.
Two rear passengers in the Honda, both 75-year-old men, were critically injured and were taken to hospital.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 35-year-old woman, suffered a suspected fractured right leg and was taken to Canberra Hospital for treatment. Three boys, aged 1, 3 and 9, were in the back seat of the Mitsubishi and were uninjured.
Officers from Monaro Police District established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The highway was closed in both directions but reopened early on Saturday morning.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
