For people living with a disability and The Disability Trust, December 3, International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is an important day for awareness, understanding, recognition and acceptance.
The Disability Trust is again joining forces with their local regions and communities in celebration of this important day.
This year, The Disability Trust will be focusing on the theme 'Remove the Barrier' in support of Australian Paralympic gold medallist and disability advocate, Dylan Alcott OAM.
The Dylan Alcott Foundation's mission is to change the perception and eliminate the stigma about disability in mainstream employment.
With over four million Australians having a form of disability and much higher rates of unemployment, The Disability Trust is proud to be supporting the 'Remove the Barrier' campaign and are calling on support from local businesses to provide more employment placement for people with disabilities.
Continuing from last year's successful coffee campaign, The Disability Trust is partnering with local cafés across the ACT to promote International Day of People with Disability and the campaign 'Remove the Barrier'.
