December 11: The final Poetry in the House reading for 2019 is is in the Fellows Lounge in University House at 7pm. It will feature Robyn Rowland (Torquay, Victoria/Ireland), Paul Cliff (Canberra) and Kathy Kituai (Canberra). Food available from 5.30 at the brasserie. The reading finishes at 9. December 16: Not Very Quiet Presents: Women and non-binary poets and poetry lovers are invited to share poems about or by the women who inspire them or to celebrate the impending end of the year with end-of-days or holiday poems. $10/$5.
December 23: That Poetry Thing is celebrating its second birthday and having its Christmas party with poetry from New Zealand's Ivy Alvarez. Smith's Alternative, 76 Alinga Street, Civic, 7-9pm. $5 entry for all, all open mic.
