But together they show why Cricket ACT's newly-launched Female Twenty20 Bash is such a crucial opportunity for cricketers around the region.
A four-team competition designed to bridge the gap between the WNCL and Canberra's grade competition will begin on December 12.
The ACT Meteors squad has been split across four teams boasting the brightest stars on the local scene for a round-robin tournament culminating in a final under lights at Phillip Oval on January 17.
It gives 14-year-old Welsford a chance to learn from Maitlan Brown at the Eastern Fever.
Western District medium pacer Alisa Clark, 28, can show what grade cricketers have to offer when she pulls on a Western Crash kit.
Northern Frenzy captain Zoe Cooke can guide those grade cricketers who are walking in the footsteps she left prior to a Meteors return.
MORE CANBERRA SPORT
Young guns like Izzy Afaras and Kelly Rowlings will link up with the likes of Anna Lanning and Sarah Coyte at the Southern Pride.
Chances like this make emerging wicketkeeper Welsford's long days travelling from the coast to Canberra all worth it.
"I come up here and play every Saturday. It's too hard to come up for training, so I train with my dad back home," Welsford said.
"Every Saturday I get up at 5am, do the two and a half hour drive, play for Tuggeranong, get home at 10pm that night, then play school or rep cricket the next day."
Clark thought chances like this had passed her by.
"At my age, I didn't think I would ever be able to play anything higher than grade cricket in Canberra," Clark said.
"So it means a lot. It's something we have been striving for for many years. It's a really big opportunity for these girls to show everyone what they can do.
"Our pathway is really climbing, the junior girls coming through are really great. The number one aim is to keep them in Canberra.
"To have competitions like this where we can promote cricket and get these junior girls staying in Canberra and not going to Sydney, it's really important and something we need to keep striving for."
Cricket ACT chief executive James Allsopp says the Female Bash was a logical step following a boost in junior participation.
"We're trying to align the whole pathway. The missing piece was that gap between local cricket and the Meteors, so we're just trying to find a way to bridge it," Allsopp said.
"Now if you're a young female coming through, it's really clear, the pathway from entry levels through to women's cricket.
"It's almost like our own version of the Big Bash so we're really excited.
"Some of the rookie players are anywhere between 13 and 18 years old, and they get an opportunity to play with girls who have represented not just the Meteors but Australian teams."
