Poulos was looking for a spot in the women's doubles, but her and partner Talia Gibson lost their semi-final 6-7 6-4 6-2 to Alexandra Bozovic and Amber Marshall at Melbourne Park on Wednesday.

Bai had lost her first-round singles match to Belinda Woolcock on Tuesday.
Both Bai and Poulos could still earn entry into the Australian Open draw through next month's qualifying.
