A technical issue brought down registers at Myer department stores around Australia on Saturday afternoon, leaving shoppers frustrated during the busy pre-Christmas rush.

A representative from the Belconnen store told the Sunday Canberra Times about 4.20pm there had been an outage on the registers but they "appeared" to be back online.
A representative at the Canberra Centre store said the outage was still affecting registers, but some had come back online.
A Myer spokesman said the issue had been rectified after the "technical issue".
"We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused during this time and can advise that stores will be trading as per normal tonight and tomorrow," he said.
The glitch caused registers in 61 stores to restart about 1.20pm. The issue was resolved just after 4pm.
Myer confirmed the outage on Twitter before later deleting the tweet.
"Our teams are working to get registers up and running as quickly as possible," the company posted on on Saturday afternoon, before later deleting the tweet.
Shoppers facing the busy Christmas rush posted photographs online showing blank screens at registers and described lengthy queues on the second last Saturday before Christmas.
Myer operates two stores in Canberra, with one at Westfield Belconnen and the other in the Canberra Centre in the city centre.
The Belconnen store was saved in May, when the company announced it would refurbish the store and downsize from three floors to two, reversing a 2017 decision to shut the store.
