The threat of two fire fronts meeting has made it too dangerous for firefighters and forestry crews to clear the Kings Highway, authorities say.

Speaking in Moruya on Friday, December 27, Roads and Transport Minister Andrew Constance, Eurobodalla Shire Mayor Liz Innes and acting general manager Warren Sharpe warned it could be at least a month before the highway reopened.
The Currowan fire has jumped in several spots and now burns on both the northern and southern sides of the road.
At the top of the Clyde Mountain, the two fire fronts could meet, potentially trapping firefighters and crews trying to clear dangerous trees.
Even without the threat of fire, there is weeks of work ahead to open the highway, they said.
Numerous trees have blocked the highway or remain precariously balanced in other trees.
Burning and damaged trees continue to pose a threat and must be extinguished and removed.
The Currowan fire has been burning since November 26.
Mr Constance and Mr Sharpe flew over the highway in Lifesaver 23 on Friday morning and briefed media afterwards.
Meanwhile, Mr Constance confirmed the Deua fire, which ignited on Boxing Day, was under investigation.
