William Luke Allan, 35, was not brought into the dock when the matter was mentioned in Goulburn Court on Wednesday morning. His solicitor, Rod Boyd, said Mr Allen would not be applying for bail, and the matter was adjourned to March 11.
Previously, police said they were called to a property in Good Hope, 20-kilometres south-west of Yass, in the early hours of Monday morning.
At the property they found a man with a serious stab wound. There were attempts to revive him but he passed away at the scene.
A second man was also found suffering with stab wounds and was taken to Canberra Hospital under police guard.
The man was discharged on Tuesday and was taken to Goulburn Police Station, where he was charged with murder. He was refused bail.
A knife was found on scene and would undergo a forensic examination.
It will be alleged in court that the two men knew each other.
