His co-captain Jarrod Croker is also in discussions with his next contract potentially ensuring he sees out his record-breaking career with the Green Machine.
The Canberra Times revealed back in November they were two of the off-contract players the Raiders wanted to lock down before the season starts.
Cotric grew up dreaming of playing in lime green and he's been a sensation since he made that dream come true at the start of the 2017 campaign.
He's gone on to not only play 70 NRL games but represent both NSW and Australia as well.
The 21-year-old was unsure how long his extension might be for.
"I actually haven't had a chat with anyone yet, but I think next week I'm having a meeting with [Raiders chief executive] Don Furner," Cotric said.
"I'm happy here. All my friends and family are here. It's my home town at the end of the day.
"I just want to win a competition here. That's my dream as a kid and that's what I want."
Croker's contract also runs out at the end of the 2020 season, but both he and the club's keen to extend his time beyond his upcoming 12th season.
He's played 257 games and has become the Raiders' all-time leading point scorer and try scorer, and is on track to overtake Jason Croker for the most games played.

Jason finished his career with 318 under his belt.
Croker's management has also been in discussions with Canberra, with the hope his next extension could make him a Raiders for life.
That will depend on how long he wants to play for, given he's still only 29.
Cotric's been training on the right wing during the pre-season and has struck up a partnership with Raiders recruit Curtis Scott.
Their right-edge pairing has already been dubbed "Scottric" and continues the tradition of a Canberra supercouple.
The departure of Jordan Rapana to Japanese rugby union has opened the door for Cotric to switch wings, having played most of his career on the left alongside Croker.
Cotric had a laugh when he found out his new supercouple name.
"I don't who came up that, but it's pretty funny. I didn't mind that," he said.
"He's a good fella and a good bloke off the field, and on the field too.
"He likes to work hard and he's a good player too, an asset to the team.
"I like left and right [wing]. I grew up playing on the right side my whole life so I'm pretty comfortable on that side so it doesn't really bother me."
Cotric said it was good to be back with family and friends after their 10-day camp on the Sunshine Coast - except for getting greeted by a hailstorm in their first session back in Canberra.
The Raiders were in the middle of their training session, when the golf-ball sized hailstones forced them to dash for cover and they headed to the gym to continue their workout.
Cotric said they managed to avoid any bruising from the hail - although like many Canberrans a few of their cars copped a battering.
He said they'd ramped up the ball work and opposed sessions since returning from their Christmas break.
"We got caught in the hailstorm, that was pretty bad, but ended up finishing our session at Club Lime so it wasn't too bad," Cotric said.
"I don't think anyone copped it, but their cars all copped it. A few windshields were pretty cracked."
