The ACT Meteors' WNCL finals hopes are slipping away after their 60-run loss to the top-placed Queensland Fire at Manuka Oval on Tuesday.
They managed to bowl the Fire out for just 179, with Nicola Hancock (3-46) and Maitlan Brown (3-27) doing the damage with the ball.
But the Meteors struggled with the bat from the start and were dismissed for just 119.
Claire Koski top scored with 44 from 67 balls.
They're second last on the ladder with three games remaining - starting with NSW at Manuka Oval on Thursday.
