Brumbies coach Dan McKellar has picked Solomone Kata and Tom Wright in his starting XV for the main trial against the Melbourne Rebels in Albury.
The wing speedsters will get their chance to impress a week before the first game of the regular season, with round-one selection on the line of they perform well.
McKellar's decisions give insight to his thinking for the Super Rugby campaign and at least one wing spot is up for grabs after Henry Speight defected to the Queensland Reds last year.
Toni Pulu will start from the bench against the Rebels. The Brumbies know what he offers with his lightning-quick speed.
But wrecking ball Kata is an unknown rugby prospect after quitting the NRL last year and Wright took plenty of steps forward in his debut Brumbies season last year.
The new-look Brumbies will square-off with the Rebels, who are expected to give their Wallabies plenty of game time.
Rookie playmaker Noah Lolesio joked he may have to reach for his autograph book before the match, but is intent on staking his claim for the Brumbies' No. 10 jersey.
Lolesio, 20, has the first chance to step up to replace Christian Lealiifano in the chief playmaker role, but Bayley Kuenzle and Reesjan Pasitoa are also competing for the job.
Kuenzle will start at flyhalf in the first of two games and then come on in the second half in the main fixture.
Schoolboy prodigy Pasitoa will play his first game at inside centre, but the Brumbies are taking a cautious approach with his Super Rugby development.

Lolesio will likely face Wallaby Matt Toomua in a playmaker battle.
"It's pretty surreal to be honest, I never thought I would be in this position. I don't know if I should make [Toomua] sign an autograph," Lolesio said.
"I've been watching him for years and he's at the pinnacle of his career, he was a role model for me growing up.
"In saying that, it's only a trial match and I've got to perform to show the coaches I'm ready to go.
"Reesjan and BK are awesome players as well, but I want to put my hand up. Hopefully I can get the job done."
Lolesio and Kuenzle are the most likely to take the back-line reins for round one given they have both spent the past 12 months testing themselves against men in Canberra and Sydney first-grade competitions.
Both are accomplished goal-kickers and will likely get that role as well if they win the selection contest.
"[McKellar] has just said to do what I normally do," Lolesio said.
"I've been working really hard on my goal kicking for the past two years, so I'm comfortable if I get that."
Darcy Swain and Murray Douglas will be the second-row combination, while Tom Cusack has the job of filling David Pocock's No. 7 jersey.
Cusack will be partnered by Pete Samu and Rob Valetini in the back row, while an all Wallabies front row of Scott Sio, Folau Faingaa and Allan Alaalatoa will start the match.
The game is the Brumbies' only serious hitout before lining up against the Reds in the season-opener in Canberra on January 31.
Lachlan McCaffrey is yet to join the Brumbies after a stint in Japan, which could impact his selection for round one, while junior sensation Billy Pollard will get his opportunity off the bench in the first of two games against the Rebels in Albury.
