The 25-year-old catcher from Illinois is supposed to check in for their first official spring training workout in little more than a fortnight.
But his focus remains solely on the task at hand - keeping the Canberra Cavalry's season alive against the Perth Heat in the ABL wildcard game at the Narrabundah Ballpark on Tuesday.
Because these men in orange, "we're brothers, all of us".
A win in the sudden-death wildcard game would send the Cavalry into a semi-final series against the Adelaide Giants, while a loss would end their title hopes.
Advance to the championship series and Robinson could be here until February 9 - giving him three days to rush home and prepare for camp.
"It is cutting it pretty close, but I knew when I signed I was going to be cutting it pretty close," Robinson said.

"I'm just taking it a day at a time, so right now, this right here is the most important thing to me, winning this ball game. I want to stay in the present.
"It's either win or go home at this point of the season. We're all professionals and we're all prepared to give it our best and win the ball game.
"I know they've got my back, and I've got their back. We're brothers, all of us, and we're going to go out there and compete."
Canberra have launched a call to arms in a bid to pack out the ballpark and inspire the Cavalry's tilt after Phil Pfeifer was recalled to the Atlanta Braves ahead of Major League spring training.
Pfeifer's departure is a cruel blow - but Robinson is adamant the Cavalry have the cattle to get the job done with Frank Gailey in the starting pitcher role.
"We have a great team core, we have great team leaders. From day one since I got here, I felt like a part of the team," Robinson said.
"I walked into the locker room and guys are introducing themselves, messing around.
"Most of the time it takes a good bit of time, but within two or three days I was comfortable and ready to rock.
"The past five or six weeks, we've been playing really well. We're leading the league in hitting, our pitching staff is doing a great job, the camaraderie in the locker room is great.
"Everything is clicking on all cylinders so that's a good sign."
