The store fronts Anketell Street, in the South.Point shopping centre (forever the Hyperdome to us).
One of the features of the Tuggeranong store is its own frozen custard window, dishing out new flavours of Italian gelato including Ferrero Rocher and Strawberries and Cream.
Mookie is a Canberra concern, owned by Jaye Min, who also owned a cafe at the ANU. The other Mookie Burger is in Genge Street in the city.
Mookie's is described as a classic American burger joint with a Japanese twist, in terms of its vibrant, cartoonish decor and some select dishes such as crispy chicken and even a miso shake. But the burgers are all U-S-of-A.
The new digs are Insta-ready, boasting Mookie's ignature neon lights, floor-to-ceiling mirror features, and an LA-style pink feature wall.
"We want to bring an all-new dining experience to the Tuggeranong community," Jaye said.
"Our city store is all about the fast-casual vibes, whereas the new location gives our customers more space to kick back and relax for a sit-down dining experience.
"We're looking forward to getting to know the Southside community in an exciting new space."
The Tuggeranong Mookie Burger opens at 11am on Saturday. Fifty percent of all purchases on the day will go towards bushfire relief efforts in partnership with The G-Spot.
