The college-bound Canberra Capitals duo will link up with the Victorian under 20s side at the national championships at the AIS this week while the WNBL breaks for an international window.
Victoria will open their women's under 20s campaign against NSW at the AIS training hall on Wednesday.
The tournament allows Potter and Scanlon to get valuable game time before they set their sights on the WNBL semi-finals.
Canberra's best-of-three series against the Melbourne Boomers begins at the AIS Arena on February 16.
"We've never experienced anything like [WNBL playoffs] before at this high of a level, so it's great to do this alongside really great teammates as well so we're excited," Scanlon said.
"Learning from professional athletes, even just little things, we've learnt a lot so far and we'll learn a lot more heading into the semi-finals and the grand final series.

"Playing at that level and training against players like that every week, it gives you really good confidence going into play against your normal age group."
The Capitals will have a skeleton of a squad left at WNBL practice over the next nine days with Scanlon and Potter's absence compounding that of a star trio and coach Paul Goriss.
He has joined Marianna Tolo in the Opals camp for the Olympic Games qualifiers in France, during which they will collide with point guard Olivia Epoupa.
Canadian import Kia Nurse has flown to Belgium to link up with her national squad, leaving eight players - including three development players - to focus solely on the Capitals' title tilt.
"The team we're playing with [at nationals], we've all played together since we were 15 or 16," Potter said.
"It's a matter of going back to that group and hopefully still having the touch we have with them, and using the experience we've learnt from the older girls in this Capitals team to help this team.
"We've won every nationals we've played, hopefully we can win this before we go to college."
