Wombat Warriors founder John Harris said the meeting was in response to new cases of mange in the Cradle Mountain National Park.
The condition, which is caused by mites, is transferred between the animals via physical contact.
Mr Harris said mange was an extinction event for wombats.
"Unless it is stopped it will kill them all," he said.
He said the meeting will be between himself and representatives from the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.
He said he had never received such a positive response from the government relating to this issue.
He said government will support people working in the field to save wombats and will pay for the necessary medication.
The Department of Parks, Water and Environment has been contacted for comment.
