Reigning Super W player of the year Stanford is the only change to the Brumbies side for the clash against the Melbourne Rebels in Ballarat this weekend.
It will be the first time she has played since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament last year, which shattered her hopes of earning her first Wallaroos jersey.
But the destructive No. 8 will add a power game to the Brumbies' back row, thrown straight into the starting side as they chase back to back wins to start the season.
"We're really impressed with the way she's dedicated herself to her rehab, having her is a big plus for us," Butt said.
"It has been physically and mentally draining for her. She's put a lot of work in. She's probably not due to be back according to the medical calendar. But she's ahead of where she should be. Last year she was phenomenal and we expect the same again."
Young gun Ella Ryan retains her position at flyhalf after making her debut last weekend, will Sammie Wood offers experience at inside centre. "A lot of the girls were saying they were nervous before last week. They'll be much better for that and we expect big things from them," Butt said.
"I like the way Ella underplayed her hand and directed traffic around. She did really well dictating terms to our forwards and that was crucial in the wet. We were impressed by that."
