2. It's showtime
The Canberra Show is back for another year. Stock up on showbags , wander through the pavilions and then head over to the action-packed Sideshow Alley - complete with rides scary enough to have your hair on ends as well as the sedate teacups for the little ones. This year's special attractions include the Showtime FMX motocross riders, animal wranglers and, of course, the fireworks. Friday-Saturday, 8.30am-10pm and Sunday, 8.30am-6.30pm. Exhibition Park. Tickets are $12 for children and $20 for adults from canberrashow.org.au.
3. Just like nonna used to make
Live la dolce vita at the Embassy of Italy this weekend. Immerse yourself in Italian culture and enjoy performances by Sbandieratori (flag throwers), live music, cooking demonstrations, children's entertainment and the Italian cars on display. There will also be Italian food - including pasta, pizza, pastries and gelato - and beverages - including Aperol Spritz and coffee. Sunday, from 10.30am-4pm. The Gardens of the Embassy of Italy. Gold coin entry, with proceeds donated for bushfire recovery.
4. Lip sync for your life
Or, at least your drink. Head to Cube Nightclub every Saturday evening from this weekend to watch the new season of RuPaul's Drag Race. Bring your besties and join in the fun as the club projects full episodes on the big screen. 5. On stage
The world premiere of Breaking the Castle comes to The Street Theatre this weekend.
