The hits and misses of the government's stimulus package

A little over a decade ago, the G20 countries launched the largest coordinated fiscal stimulus in history. To uncover the economic and political lessons from this period, I interviewed more than 60 national leaders and officials and modelled the impact of the stimulus. Applying the lessons of that research to this week's coronavirus stimulus package reveals that we have learned a lot from the past, but we've also forgotten a few things.
